BB Awards Night: Wednesday 1st April 2009

Firm Foundations Fund Raising Meal: Saturday 28th March 2009

On Saturday evening 65 friends sat down for supper in the Iona/Columba Room.  After costs had been deducted the event raised £200 - and this has been put towards the expenses of taking eight of our young people to a Christian youth festival called Firm Foundations.  It will be held over the second May bank holiday in a few month

Hymneo at Odcombe Concert: Saturday 21st March 2009

On Saturday 21st March our singing group, Hymneo, took a whole evening of entertainment at Odcombe Village Hall.  It was a fund raising evening and the hall was full of supporters.  The group sang twelve pieces, there were solo items and comedy sketches - we saw a number of our members in a completely new light!

Receptionists' Cheese and Wine Evening: Friday 20th March 2009

On Friday we held a Cheese and Wine Evening to say 'thank you' to the volunteers who staff our Reception Area every week day.  We have a rota with some 35 folk on it - they work in three 'shifts' between 10am-Noon, Noon-2pm and 2pm-4pm.  Our receptionists welcome the various user groups to the building and make sure they have what they need - they are also the first point of contact

Women's World Day of Prayer Service: Friday 6th March 2009

On Friday 6th March 2009 South Street hosted Yeovil's Women's World Day of Prayer Service.  Over 80 folk from a wide variety of churches came to the 10.30am event at which a former Diocesan Secretary from Papua New Guinea spoke of the work of Christians on that island - where over 90% of the population profess a Christian faith.
