On Sunday 15th November 2009 Sue and Clare (mother and daughter!) were baptised.  During the service we heard how each of them has been influenced by their time in Girls' Brigade.  It was wonderful for us as a church family to share in this occasion and to witness Clare and Sue making such a personal and profound statement of faith.

We rejoiced with Kathryn and Martyn on Saturday 14th November as they came to South Street to make their wedding vows.  They were joined by many family and friends for this special and deeply moving occasion.  We wish them God's blessing for coming days. More pictures in Photo Gallery

We held the last Men's Breakfast of the year on Saturday when 30 of us gathered for a full 'English' followed by a talk by David on his work in Advocacy.  David is one of our Child Advocates and gave us a fascinating insight into child development.

We concluded our reflections for Remembrance Sunday with a Faith and Film evening in the Chapel Lounge. We watched snippets of the moving film: The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas - the account of two boys, one German, the other Jewish, and their WW2 friendship.

We were thrilled with the response to our Boys' Brigade invitation for us as a church family to support Operation Christmas Child this year.  On Remembrance Sunday 85 boxes - filled with toys for children overseas - were brought to church.
