Much sadness was expressed last Sunday morning when it was announced that our much loved life-deacon, Mr Joe Arnold had died. His lifelong connection with South Street has meant he has been a good friend to so many in our congregation and it is perhaps difficult to imagine life without him.

After a sun filled week of coastal walking in Dorset we returned to Yeovil last Saturday. On Tuesday I spent the day as part of a panel of governors interviewing prospective Head Teacher candidates for The Park School. I travelled up to London yesterday by train – to attend the Retreat Association Executive at St Marylebone Parish Church. As we entered Waterloo station I glanced over to the Houses of Parliament and reflected on the dramatic scenes of the Prime Ministerial changeover I watched on TV the night before.
